Quantum Architecture

Last updated 6 months ago

Quantum is designed as a robust bridge between the Arweave and AO ecosystems, facilitating seamless asset transfer and liquidity provision. Its architecture is built on the pillars of transparency, security, and trust. Here's an overview of Quantum's key components and how they interact:

Core Components

  1. Front-End Interface

    • Allows users to connect their AR wallet to Quantum

    • Provides options to mint/burn Q-Arweave (qAR)

    • Enables users to interact with AO rewards

  2. Quantum Protocol

    • Handles the mint/burn processes for Q-Arweave (qAR)

    • Manages the qAR Token Process

    • Interacts with the MPC Wallet for deposit/withdrawal of AR

  3. MPC Wallet

    • Facilitates user deposits and withdrawals of Arweave (AR)

    • Secured using Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology

    • MPC shards are distributed across multiple parties within the AO ecosystem

    • Manages treasury operations

    • Handles AO rewards distribution

  4. Institutional Custodian

    • A regulated custodian (e.g., Copper) that securely holds assets

    • Uses advanced, industrial-grade MPC technology

    • Ensures the highest level of security and compliance

    • Assets exceeding the MPC wallet threshold are transferred here for cold storage

  5. AO Process

    • A set of instructions executable by the AO network

    • Verifies AR transfers on the Arweave blockchain

    • Issues corresponding qAR tokens to users

Key Processes

Wrapping (AR to qAR)

  1. User connects wallet and initiates wrapping process

  2. AR is transferred to the MPC Wallet

  3. User submits transaction ID to AO process for verification

  4. AO process verifies the transfer and issues qAR tokens

Unwrapping (qAR to AR)

  1. User initiates unwrapping through the Quantum app

  2. Specified amount of qAR is temporarily locked

  3. User provides burns confirmation (message ID) to Quantum

  4. Quantum triggers AR transfer to the user's address using MPC signing

AO Rewards

  • Users accrue AO rewards by holding AR within the MPC Wallet

  • A scheduled cron job tracks and mirrors AO rewards for locked Arweave

  • Accumulated rewards are airdropped to users at a future date

Architectural Characteristics

  1. MPC Wallet: Enhances security and trust by distributing control across multiple entities, while managing treasury operations and rewards distribution

  2. Automatic Minting on AO: Ensures seamless asset conversion through automated detection of deposits

  3. Institutional Custody Infrastructure: Provides additional security for large asset holdings

  4. Proof of Reserves: Offers transparent reporting for verifiable proof of qAR backing
